Something Really Different - Summer 2009

Waltons Marquees have provided marquees for a number of parties and celebrations for the family in the past. An ultra important family wedding meant that something different was required on this occasion.

A large guest list, circa 200, needed to be dined in comfort, with a large reception area in case of bad weather on arrival, a bar to service even greater numbers in the evening and a large dance floor/ night club area for the evening celebrations. VIP loos were imported to provide first class powder room facilities for both ladies and gents.

Our solution was not just to offer square footage in a big warehouse size marquee. One of our big ideas is that the right size is not just about enough space, but not too much. Nothing kills atmosphere quicker than a large space that can’t be filled (we have all been to that party...).

We created our unique 'zig-zag' format that gives a large main body for dining, and separate opposite 'annexes' for dancing and bar/reception area, the latter also acting as a quiet chill-out area during the evening. Our unique 'conservatory' hip end ensured that the fabulous gardens could be seen and the dining area enjoyed the summer light throughout the day.

Not only did the marquee achieve all of its practical aims, it was a bespoke solution that added a wow! factor to this special day.
