Not all of our customers are brides and grooms - in fact, a majority of our work is for corporate, community and family events. These range from £200 up and down in the day to the likes of the example below. We are happy to look after marquee hire jobs of almost any size.

This multinational firm was awarded the prestigious Queen’s Award for Export to be presented by HRH envoy the Lord Lieutenant of Northumberland in a ceremony at their base on the dockside in Sunderland.

Working hand in hand with the company’s own PR firm, we provided a large marquee on hard standing for the award ceremony and the next day for an in-house staff event with a maximum number of guests at any one time of 250, but with over 1000 people throughout the two days.

The brief was to create a multifunctional space, combining catering and hospitality with information and presentation areas, to a standard suitable for such a significant event in the company’s history.

The main marquee included an integral catering area, Pimms bar, display boards and formal seating for 150. Window walls looked out onto the river view and the Stadium of Light. To add relevance to the event, the marquee was weighted down using 2.5ton crane cables from Liebherr’s own stock. A small separate marquee was erected at the main gate as a registration and greeting area for guests on arrival.

The event was a huge success and despite high winds and poor weather, the marquee provided secure and attractive cover for the guests throughout. The client and PR agency were delighted with the service provided by Waltons Marquees.
